From February 16 to 18, The 23rd China Annual Conference for International Education, hosted by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), was held in Beijing. Huai Jinpeng, Minister of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, delivered a speech via video. YRCTI’s Party Secretary Zhou Baoping was invited to attend the conference and, as a representative of higher vocational universities, shared a case presentation titled “A Talent Cultivation Station Connecting the Yellow River and the Zambezi River” at the sub-forum entitled “Extensive Consultation, Joint Innovation and Shared Benefits–Symposium on Cross-Border Vocational Education.”

She shared YRCTI’s experiences, approaches, and achievements in educational opening-up and establishing overseas Dayu Schools from three aspects: Firstly, innovate mechanisms to build new platforms for international talent cultivation through multiple parties and continuously improve the quality of the international technical and skilled talents in water conservancy; secondly, deepen reforms to establish a new talent cultivation model through the collaboration of government, industry, enterprises, universities, and research institutions, characterized by “one system, multiple sectors, and four integrations”; thirdly, provide services and make contribution to promote the internationalization of China’s vocational education through the sharing of international standards, the cultivation of local skilled talents, and the Sino-foreign people-to-people exchanges.

Zhou Baoping pointed out that YRCTI will further carry forward its strengths in water conservancy talent cultivation to gradually optimize the Dayu School model and build it into an internationally renowned vocational education brand highly recognized among the “Belt and Road” countries with strong advantages in water conservancy and distinctive talent development features, thereby contributing YRCTI’s wisdom of vocational education in water conservancy to the construction of the “Belt and Road” Initiative.
