On the afternoon of November 13, YRCTI’s President Hu Hao led a delegation of 6 people, including heads and relevant personnel from the Liaison and Cooperation Department, the Science and Technology Department, the School of Water Conservancy Engineering, the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation Engineering, and the School of Surveying and Mapping Engineering, to visit the Vocational Education Committee, Eastern Region, Thailand and carry out discussion on educational cooperation. Chairman Songchai Tanongsak (宋猜·谭荣苏), Vice Chairman Narong Kasefiphar (纳荣·卡塞菲巴尔), and relevant personnel from the Vocational Education Committee, Eastern Region, Thailand,attended the discussion meeting.

Songchai extended a warm welcome to President Hu Hao and the delegation, offered sincere congratulations on the establishment of the YRCTI Thailand Dayu School, and introducedthe construction status of the 9 vocational institutions under the Vocational Education Committee. He stated that the Eastern Region is Thailand’s most significant industrial base, and in recent years, with the promotion of the Eastern Economic Corridor, China-invested enterprises represented by PowerChina and China State Construction have undertaken numerous engineering projects, which has created a great demand for high-quality technical and skilled engineering talents and greatly stimulated Thai youth’s enthusiasm for learning Chinese and relevant skills. He also hopes that YRCTI can expand the existing cooperation achievements of the Thailand Dayu School to other vocational institutions in the Eastern Region by jointly developing more cooperative projects to cultivate composite talents that meet the local needs of Thailand and contribute to the “Thailand 4.0” industrial plan and the economic development strategy of Thailand’s Eastern Region.

Hu Hao expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Vocational Education Committee, Eastern Region, Thailand for its continuous supportforYRCTI, briefly introduced YRCTI’s development history and recent achievements, and reviewed the educational exchanges and cooperation achievements between YRCTI and ASEAN countries, exemplified by the Thailand Dayu School. He noted that China and Thailand are geographically connected and enjoy a good neighborly relationship. He also expressed that last month, during the talks between President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Srettha, President Xi Jinping pointed out that the two countries should strengthen youth exchanges, bring the hearts and sentiments of the peoples closer together, and enrich the cultural connotation of the China-Thailand community with a shared future. He further stated that as the head unit of the Vocational Education Committee of the China Association of Hydraulic Engineering Education, YRCTI will, relying on the construction of the Thailand Dayu School, work together with Chinese hydropower companies and the vocational universities in China and Thailand to build the Thailand Dayu School into an integrated cooperation platform encompassing talent cultivation, corporate employee training, development of international teaching standards, and the “Chinese + Vocational Skills” program in the main fields such as water conservancy, construction, new energy vehicles, and e-commerce, ushering in a new chapter of deepening cooperation and common development between the vocational universities in both China and Thailand.

After this, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the group cooperation between Chinese and Thai vocational universities, the development of “Chinese + Vocational Skills” courses, the development of online teaching resources, as well as the studying programs in China, reaching significant cooperation intentions.
