From November 27 to 29, Yang Shiheng, Deputy Party Secretary of YRCTI and President of the Trade Union, led the heads of relevant departments including the Liaison and Cooperation Department, the School of International Education, the School of Environmental Engineering, the School of Information Engineering, and the School of Business and Management on a visit to Daegu University of South Korea for academic exchange. Vice President of Daegu University of South Korea Choi ByeongJai (崔炳载), Chief Director of the International Department Yoo HyeGyeong (柳惠敬), Director of the International Department Kang SunGyu (姜宣求), Manager of the International Department Bi WonHo (悲渊浩), and Head of the International Department Gong DaeSeok (孔大锡) warmly received Yang Shiheng and his delegation.

At the meeting, Choi ByeongJai expressed his welcome to the delegation, stating that Daegu University and YRCTIareclose and deep partners and have made significant achievements in cooperative education. He also hopes that both universities can expand cooperation into new academic specialties and explore new areas of collaboration, jointly creating a model for China-Korea educational cooperation.

Yang Shiheng expressed gratitude for the warm reception by the leaders of the Daegu University and highly acknowledged the cooperative educational achievements between the two universities. He also expressed hope to further consolidate the cooperative fields, expand cooperation into new academic specialties, establish research collaboration platforms, facilitate faculty and student exchanges, and build regular communication mechanisms, so as to promote higher-level and broader-scope exchanges and mutual learning and enhance the effectiveness of educational exchanges and cooperation.

During the visit, Yang Shiheng and the delegation also visited the teaching buildings, library, sports facilities, and other areas of Daegu University, held cordial discussions with YRCTI’s students studying at Daegu University by conveying care from YRCTI and encouraging them to study diligently, make great achievements and bring honor to both their university and country.

YRCTI Daegu School represents a China-foreign cooperative institute with non-independent legal status established jointly by YRCTI and Daegu University of South Korea and has been included in China’s national admission plan for general higher education institutes. Since 2021, YRCTI Daegu School has enrolled 446 students in Environmental Engineering Technology, Software Technology, and E-commerce.
