YRCTI’s President Hu Hao and A Delegation Visit the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman and the Industry 4.0 Entrepreneurs Association in Malaysia

From November 10 to 11, President Hu Hao led a delegation of 6 people, including heads and relevant personnel from the Liaison and Cooperation Department, the Science and Technology Department, the School of Water Conservancy Engineering, the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation Engineering, and the School of Surveying and Mapping Engineering, to visit theUniversiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and the Industry 4.0 Entrepreneurs Association of Malaysia and conduct a discussion on educational cooperation.

At UTAR, President Hu Hao and the delegation had a meeting with UTAR’sPresident Ewe Hong Tat (尤芳达) and signed a Letter of Intent on cooperation. Hu Hao introduced YRCTI’s development history and academic achievements and expressed hope that both universities could fully leverage their respective strengths to engage in practical cooperation in areas such as faculty and student exchanges, joint establishment of research institutions, and collaborative talent cultivation, thereby providing a broader platform for the development of young people in China and Malaysia and contributing to educational cooperation between the two countries. Ewe Hong Tat warmly welcomed the visit of President Hu Hao and his delegation and provided an overview of UTAR’s educational situation. He hoped that the signing of the Letter of Intent would serve as an opportunity for both universities to establish a mechanism for exchange and cooperation, carefully design and plan cooperative projects, initiate collaboration in related fields, and promote mutual progress and development.

After this, President Hu Hao and the delegation held in-depth discussions with Professor Lee Chuan Tien (李泉氚), President of the Industry 4.0 Entrepreneurs Association, along with its Vice President Professor Datuk Wen WeiHung (温玮鸿) and Advisor Professor Datuk Yen Boon Leong (颜宝隆), regarding cooperation in areas such as new energy vehicles, smart manufacturing, and agricultural water management, and reached cooperation intention on programs for Malaysian students to study and intern in China, training programs for employees of Malaysian companies, and collaborations between vocational universities and enterprises.

UTAR is a comprehensive university founded by Malaysia’s largest Chinese political party, the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA). As one of the largest and most renowned universities in Malaysia and a publicly recognized top-tier institution in Malaysia, UTAR comprises 14 faculties, 52 academic departments, and 32 research centers.The Industry 4.0 Entrepreneurs Association of Malaysia is a non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political entrepreneurs platform aimed at assisting industry enterprises in achieving digital transformation and strategic leadership of major businesses and building partnerships among businesses, educational institutions, and the government. This visit expanded the communication channels between YRCTI and Malaysian enterprises and universities, laying a solid foundation for YRCTI to carry out further educational cooperation and exchanges with Malaysia.
