On the morning of April 10, YRCTI held a grand graduation ceremony for the Class 2018 of South African students. Zhu Yuhua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of YRCTI, Deputy President Jian Haoran, and Ping Shuaijun, a YRCTI alumnus and Deputy Manager of Kaifeng Project Department of China Railway Construction 20^th Group Municipal Engineering Co., Ltd. attended the ceremony. Heads of relevant departments and schools, representatives of course teachers, and South African students of Class 2018 attended the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Ji Yao, Deputy Director of Liaison and Cooperation Department.

At the ceremony, Zhu Yuhua made a speech under the title of “carrying a water conservancy dream, building a friendship bridge” to express congratulations on the successful graduation of South African students and thanks to the enterprises in cooperation with YRCTI in cultivating international students. She proposed four hopes to South African students: 1. To make learning a habit and enrich their spiritual world, solve practical problems, and make continuous innovation and development during learning. 2. With dreams accompanying their life, to adhere to and be down-to-earth to struggle to the end for dream realization, and contribute to South Africa’s water conservancy construction. 3. To keep struggling and enterprising with a positive attitude and always face life with an optimistic and grateful attitude. 4. To make the friendship between China and South Africa last forever. After returning to their motherlands, they can still cherish China and YRCTI and be a link of friendship between China and South Africa.

Ping Shuaijun, YRCTI alumnus and enterprise representative, made a speech. As an alumnus, he was proud of his contribution to YRCTI's internationalization of education and hoped to continue to deepen school-enterprise cooperation in the future to help cultivate more high-quality, high-skilled applied talents with international competency.

The course teacher representative Zhang Fang reviewed the efforts and gains of the international students in the learning process and gave them good blessings. The representative of the Class 2018 of South African international students Simon expressed his heartfelt thanks to the leaders and teachers for their hard work, and said that they would apply their professional knowledge they had learned to the development of water conservancy in their country, and strive to become a messenger of China-South Africa friendship. Then, the present leaders and guests issued certificates of completion to all South African students and took a group photo with them.

As a Permanent Vice Chairman Unit of the Chinese Council of China & South Africa Technical and Vocational Education Cooperation Alliance, in April 2018, YRCTI undertook the task of training 50 international students majoring in water conservancy engineering management selected by the Industry and Manufacturing Training Agency of South African Department of Basic Education. YRCTI paid high attention to the training of international students from South Africa. The School of Water Conservancy Engineering took the lead in setting up a teaching and management team and took measures such as “one-to-one” pair of Chinese-South African students and university-enterprise cooperation for students' internship, providing a solid guarantee for their successful study and life. The training of South African students demonstrates the strength of YRCTI as the “Top 50 National Higher Vocational Colleges for International Influence” and also contributes to YRCTI’s objective of becoming “first-class in China and famous in the world”.
