With the aim of pushing forward the construction of “Double High Level Program (high-level higher vocational colleges and disciplines)” and co-construction of an industrial college with Sanmenxia Yellow River Pearl (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the “Pearl Group”), Zhou Baoping, Secretary of Party Committee, Zhu Yuhua, President, Jian Haoran, Vice President, and principals of Liaison and Cooperation Department, School of Hydraulic Engineering and other sectors visited Pearl Group on July 27 to carry out field investigation.

The seminar was presided over by Chen Yingang, General Manager of Pearl Group. Chairman He Shuming, Deputy General Manager Wang Tongzhan and Zhao Guomin, as well as leaders of relevant departments and subsidiaries attended the seminar. Chen expressed his gratitude to YRCTI for the continued support, and introduced the development, production and operation scale, talent strategies and other basic information of Pearl Group through a short film, and expressed his strong wish to develop close communication and deep cooperation with YRCTI in talent training and other aspects.

He Shuming warmly welcomed the arrival of the YRCTI delegation led by Zhou Baoping and Zhu Yuhua, and said that YRCTI takes a leading role in higher vocational education of water conservancy. He also showed appreciation for YRCTI’s cooperation with Huawei, HRG and other outstanding enterprises, and emphasized that the two parties should develop a deeper cooperation in building an industrial college, with faster speed and more ambitious goal.

Zhou Baoping spoke highly of the long-standing cooperation and support between Pearl Group and YRCTI. She pointed that Pearl group is one of the leaders in operation, installation and maintenance of hydroelectric generating set in water conservancy industry. As the only “Double High-level (high-level higher vocational college with high-level disciplines)” higher vocational college (developing) providing water conservancy vocational education in the central and western regions of China, YRCTI pays close attention to the water conservancy industrial demands and regional economic development, and develops in-depth cooperation with leading enterprises in the industry, to fulfill the national requirements for “Double High-level” schools. YRCTI is seeking more collaboration with the Pearl Group in the building of an industrial college, university-enterprise cooperation, talent training, construction of teaching staff, scientific research and other fields.

Zhu Yuhua said that YRCTI and Pearl Group should utilize this cooperation to promote the industrial college construction, deepen the integration of industry and education, comprehensively improve the personnel training quality, so as to cultivate high-quality talents needed by the Pearl Group, and make contributions to the water conservancy industry and regional economic and social development.

At the meeting, the two sides made heated discussions and reached consensus on the construction content and forms of cooperation of the industrial college. They agreed to accelerate the construction of the Yellow River Pearl Industrial college, further clarify the organizational structure, construction scale and preliminary construction plan, and comprehensively promote the substantive construction.

After the meeting, Zhou Baoping, Secretary of the Party Committee, Zhu Yuhua, President, and other school representatives investigated surrounding environment of the proposed site of the Yellow River Pearl Industrial college and visited Sanmenxia Water Control Project.
